Bug bites are definitely a sure fire way to put a bit of a dampener on your holiday. Not only are they super uncomfortable, but some people can have quite a severe reaction to them and in some countries insects carry diseases, and the last thing you want is to have to spend your precious holiday time seeking medical help.

Pack insect repellentÂ
Make sure you pack a good insect repellent. This is probably the most important thing to bring with you on any holiday, but many people do forget to pack it.Â
Most insect repellents contain the chemical DEET, which is effective but can cause a bad reaction for some people such as irritation, redness and swelling. There have even been cases where DEET has been associated with seizures in people, so you may wish to invest in something a little bit more natural. Cover up exposed skin
If bugs can?t get to your skin, then they can?t bite you, so one of the best ways to prevent being bitten is by covering up any exposed skin.
