Borgobrufa Resort review – Perugia Italy
The first thing I must highlight is that the Borgobrufa Spa Resort is a child free zone, only over 15s aÂÂre permitted as guests, which makes it the perfect getaway if you are looking for a break away from the children.
From London Stansted to Perugia International Airport, the flight time is two hours and thirty minutes. The transfer from the airport to the hotel takes approximately twenty minutes.
Borgobrufa is the biggest spa resort in Umbria. The hotel is located in the vicinity of Perugia within a small village. It is set in amongst vineyards and Umbrian olive groves. The panoramic views are breath-taking.
It is a family owned hotel. Husband and wife team, Mr Andrea Sfascia and Mrs Ivana Baldassarri, the owners are both locals. They ventured into hospitality in 2002, with a small Country House. In 2006 they extended it into the Borgobrufa Spa resort. We arrived early evening and checked in, there is a small reception at the entrance and the check in was quite swift. We were then whisked away in one of the hotel?s many golf buggies to our rooms.
My room was located away from the main building, it had a fabulous little balcony which offered scenic views of the olive groves. The room was a little austere, a bit dated, this contributes to the four star status. You would expect a refurbishment on the rooms, to get it the hotel up to five star status, something that the management are currently working on. All the same it is charming in an old fashioned way.
