It’s a sustainable month ahead, with World Oceans Day on 8 June and World Bicycle Day on 3 June. Many countries also celebrate Father’s Day on 3 June.
World Environment Day is on 5 June and the focus this year is on beating plastic pollution. Use the hashtag #BeatPlasticPollution and play a global game of tag by choosing which type of plastic you’re ready to give up. Take a photo of you with a reusable alternative and tag 3 people encouraging them to do the same. Alternatively, there are over 1,500 events worldwide with which you can get involved. Foodies will no doubt appreciate World Tapas Day on 21 June, with a week of celebrations beforehand. There will be festivals, food tastings and special offers in many Spanish restaurants throughout the world.
In London, the Victoria and Albert Museum will host the hotly anticipated new exhibition on Frida Kahlo. Showcasing the personal belongings of this inspirational Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up opens on 16 June. We had the opportunity of dressing like Frida at the Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba in Mexico which was an amazing experience.
