May is one of the warmest Spring months and there are lots of opportunities to get out and about and delight in the good weather. From local exhibitions to hot new restaurant openings, there are plenty of events in May to enjoy.
Events in May
May is a month of celebrations, with the Cinco de Mayo festivities in Mexico on 5 May, Mother’s Day in the USA on 13 May, Victory Day on 21 May in Canada and Memorial Day on 28 May in the USA. In the UK, RHS Chelsea Flower Show will take place from 22-26 May and if previous years are anything to go by then it will be another huge success.
Also in London, Tate Modern has a new exhibition until 14 October, Shape of Light: 100 Years of Photography and Abstract Art. It features over 350 works by more than 100 artists including Man Ray and Jackson Pollock. Photo London takes place from 17-20 May and the Leica Collectors? Lounge will be featuring an exclusive showcase of works by photographer Bruce Gilden, Farm Boys and Farm Girls USA.
