How to Beautify Your Home with Tropical Decor
Tropical interiors are a huge trend right now, with island living being something that many aspire to. Yet if retiring to a private island isn’t quite within your grasp just yet, there are many ways in which you can inject a dose of tropical inspiration. We’ve come up with some easy ways to beautify your home with tropical decor, from little to large projects.
Green is Good
The Pantone colour of the year is Greenery and nothing spells tropical style more than green plants. From the structural shapes of Monastera and rubber tree plants to softer ferns, there’s something for everyone. Try mixing different styles of tropical plants together for a lush jungle ambiance. Plant them in terracotta, rattan or wicker pots or hang them from the ceiling in macrame baskets – they’re making a come-back! Remember to spray them regularly with a water bottle to increase humidity and your tropical house plants will thrive. Â
Day Dream
Take inspiration from tropical homes or hotels, such as the luxurious Kanopi House treehouse in Jamaica, and consider investing in a day bed – perfect for lounging around! Here, the island vibe has been further enhanced with a subtle seashell fabric. The dark wood day beds contrast beautifully with the white fabric and green accessories.
