We are truly blessed to have such wonderful landscapes right here on our doorstep in Scotland. From the highlands to the lowlands, to some of the most spectacular beaches and lochs on this planet, Scotland has something to offer for those with even the most discerning tastes.
Year on year we find ourselves returning to one of our favourite locations the small village of Luss, and in particular a gem of a hotel that is The Lodge on the Loch.
This four star hotel is situated right on the edge of Loch Lomond, in a quiet sandy cove with some of Scotland?s most stunning scenery on it?s doorstep. The hotel boasts a spa and other facilities include a spa bath, steam room, sauna and indoor heated swimming pool.
The hotel is privately owned by the Colquhoun family. Their son Niall and his wife manage the place. Many famous people from the world of politics to showbiz have stayed at the hotel. Including former US President, Jimmy Carter, such a prolific guest that the hotel named a suite after him, the spacious Carter Suite. A magnet for US presidents, former president Bill Clinton has also stayed here. From the world of showbiz Lana del Rey and regular resident comedian Kevin Bridges have all stayed at the hotel. At the suggestion of the management we gave up our usual suite and opted for a recently refurbished one, The Travis Suite.
