When to go
As in the rest of the northern territory of Vietnam, winter in Halong is quite cold, and summer from May to August is subject to heavy rains and typhoons. The ideal time to visit Halong Bay is between September and October, but as always the luck factor has a lot to do with it. Spring is also good, between March and April, but be prepared for scorching temperatures and very high humidity levels. How to get there
Ha Long City is located less than 200km from Hanoi in northern Vietnam and close to the border with China.
