Big shoes to fill
In 2005, Bugatti redefined the supercar category with the debut of the Veyron. Some auto pundits would say that this marked the beginning of the hypercar era. With a top speed of 253 miles per hour and an original starting price of $1.7 million, super just doesn’t do the machine justice.

Fast forward to 2016 and Bugatti’s long awaited replacement will start to roll out of French workshops as early as October 2016. The Chiron makes a radical styling statement but still screams Bugatti. The 8 liter, 16 cylinder powerplant carries over from the Veyron but horsepower in the Chiron explodes to almost 1500 from the Veyron’s still astonishing 1001. Four turbochargers, a high performance carbon fiber body and all wheel drive propel the Chiron from 0 to 100 km/h in an outstanding 2.4 seconds and tops out at an electronically limited 261 mph.
