Mercedes started 2016 with a very special edition S-Class Cabriolet created to mark 130 years of the automobile, and in perfect symmetry is closing out the year with an equally special take on its flagship drop-top car — the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet.
Just 300 individually numbered examples of the luxurious open-top cruiser are set for production and each will come with a certificate of authenticity personally signed by the company’s chairman, Dieter Zetsche. But the world’s super rich need more than an autograph when it comes to choosing a luxury convertible, especially when the latest Maybach model will be spending much of its time parked alongside the likes of the Rolls-Royce Dawn and Bentley Continental GTC.
Therefore, even though it will be rarer than either, it also boasts a twin turbo charged 6-liter V12 under the hood (630hp, 1000Nm torque), good for a 0-100km/h time of just 4.1 seconds.
