Como Metropolitan Bangkok
On the last leg of our Thai trip in September were we spent ten magical days in Phuket staying at various hotels on the island, including The Surin and Anantara Layan we decided for the last couple of nights in Bangkok before out flight back to the UK to base ourself in the financial district of South Sathorn Road as it was close to the cities main nightlife at Silom and also slightly easier to get to the airport from.
My due diligence in researching virtually every luxury hotel in the city before the trip drew my attention to the Como Metropolitan Bangkok and my research paid off as this minimalist design focused hotel is a real gem so read on to find out more about this gem of a luxury hotel in the Thai capital.
Background and Concept Bangkok is a jungle of concrete, noise and people (which I love) but even I after a few days there want to remove myself from the crowds to some peace and quiet. Many of the luxury hotels in Bangkok are Goliath?s of buildings packing in hundreds of guests and while they cater beautifully for your luxury travel needs it is nice to scale down and the Como Metropolitan fits this mould perfectly.
The Como brand have hotels around the world from Bhutan to Miami and a couple in London (next on my hit list). No two Como properties are the same, the Bangkok Metropolitan is contemporary Asian in style, sleek and spacious, think whitewashed walls, dark wooden panels and contemporary art pieces dotted around the hotels.
