Cosmograph Rolex Daytona with Meteorite Dial

Rolex presented five new versions of its Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona characterised by a dial made from metallic meteorite ? a rare natural material from outer space ? with black chronograph counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.
Rare and challenging to work with, metallic meteorite reveals its unique appearance when it is cut into thin sections and a chemical treatment is applied. Its fascinating and varied formations are known as Widmanstätten patterns.
The first three versions are crafted from white gold, yellow gold or rose gold and fitted with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic with a tachymetric scale, and an Oysterflex bracelet.
The other two watches, one in yellow gold and the other in Everose gold, have a metal bezel with a tachymetric scale and are on a traditional Oyster bracelet.
The typical 40 mm Oyster case guarantees water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet thanks to a fluted case back hermetically screwed down like the winding crown and the chronograph pushers.
The watches are equipped with calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement engaged by a mechanism with a column wheel and vertical clutch for instantaneous and precise start. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers a power reserve of 72 hours. The oscillator has a blue Parachrom hairspring manufactured in an exclusive alloy insensitive to magnetic fields.
