Futuristic Carbon Fiber Electric Concept Car Apex AP-O
UK-based manufacturer APEX has officially unveiled its all-electric supercar concept, the AP-0, in London. The lightweight EV is inspired by the race track but is completely road legal, combining futuristic aerodynamics with electric power for a contemporary supercar vision that is aimed to further connect the driver with their car. It is made from a carbon-fiber tub with modular spaceframes and a rigidity-enhancing center spine, making the AP-o light and strong, as well as a host of carbon-fiber body panels that tightly wrap around the tub.
APEX designed the car with aerodynamics in mind, making the front end angular and technical to channel air under the wheels, underneath the body and out the rear via the large diffuser. Its floor-mounted 90kW battery makes for a low center of gravity, as a result increasing the AP-o’s handling capabilities.
The battery itself is good for 650 BHP, 580Nm of torque and a top speed of 190 MPH. The battery and body combined only weighs 1,200kg, meaning the AP-0 can be launched from 0-60 MPH in just 2.3 seconds. APEX says that its EV will have a total range of 320 miles. Look for the sleek super-sport to hit stockists in 2022 for an estimated $185,816+. And while we’re waiting be sure to check 15 fastest cars in the world and 10 most expensive cars in the world.
