After our recent weekend break in Reykjavik we can see that the cities hotel scene is having a renaissance with stylish properties popping up across the city. One new hotel that caught out eye is the 2016 built Hilton Canopy.
Located right in the heart of the city on Hverfisgata Street which is a moments walk away from the main shopping, bar and restaurant strip Laugavegur.
Formerly 6 interconnected houses which in a former life used to be a furniture factory. The interior has been completely reimagined taking influence from local design, food and culture.

Walk into the hotel and feel immediately relaxed in the lobby with reception to the right and bistro and bar to the left and spy the library beyond in this open plan space, think home rather than hotel. If you are feeling nostalgic the hotel has a library of 1000 Lp’s and you can enjoy playing them on one of the 10 hotel record players.
Rooms carry on the local design and include greys (volcanic rock) and ocean blues, local artwork adorns the walls. Rooms are well appointed (well we wouldn?t expect anything less from Hilton). Large 48-inch TV?s to unwind to after a days exploring the city, deluxe bedding (Canopy bed with gel memory foam and Serta Cool Balance® Technology.), heated floors in the bathroom and Nespresso machines in the rooms too Amen!

Breakfast is served in hotels Geiri Smart Restaurant and comprises a varied and filling spread of fresh fruits, cold cuts, warm dishes, yogurt and juices.
