Shanghai Disney Resort will host a grand opening celebration on June 16th, welcoming its first official guests and becoming the first Disney destination on mainland China. Estimated at $5.5 billion, the Shanghai Disney Resort is a joint venture between the Walt Disney Company and Shanghai Shendi Group, a state-owned organization with a 57% ownership in the new Disney venture.?When it opens in June, Shanghai Disney resort will be a one-of-a-kind, world-class destination that is authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese,? said Robert A.
