Travelling from the heart of London to the heart of Paris is, in some ways, like stepping from one luxury universe into another. In Mayfair, every conversation is about money ? what?s for sale, what?s being sold, who might buy what. A brand is a currency, there to have its value inflated and sold on to the next wheeler-dealer. Paris may be the home of the global luxury industry, but despite this, or perhaps because of it, it is ? mostly ? not considered appropriate to have the same conversations.
