MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT Lapis Lazuli
First launched in 2019, the Legacy Machine FlyingT was the first of MB&F’s three-dimensional horological art pieces dedicated to women. Recently the Geneva-based brand presented the latest interpretation of this model – Legacy Machine FlyingT Lapis Lazuli, featuring a dial plate and subdial in the deep blue gemstone all framed by a white gold case set with diamonds. ,
A high convex dome of sapphire crystal rises from the bezel. An asymmetric opening in the dial plate frames the key component of the movement, the flying tourbillon that slowly beats at frequency of 2.5 Hz (18,000 vibrations per hour).
At the top of the upper tourbillon cage, we find a large diamond that rotates simultaneously with the flying tourbillon, emitting its eye-catching brilliance. At the 7 o’clock position, a lapis lazuli dial inclined at a 50° tilt displays the hours and minutes with a pair of elegant serpentine hands.
On the reverse, the automatic winding rotor takes the shape of a three-dimensional red gold sun with sculpted rays. When fully wound, the movement offers four days of power reserve. The retail price of the MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT Lapis Lazuli is US$ 138,000. Price tag is pretty high but far away from the prices of the most expensive watches in the world.
