Record-Breaking Speed with Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Electric Supercar
Porsche has recently introduced the pinnacle of its electric vehicle lineup, the Taycan Turbo GT, setting new standards in performance and speed. The launch includes two versions: the standard Taycan Turbo GT and the race-track-optimized Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package. The latter variation, stripped of its rear seats for an enhanced power-to-weight ratio, boasts over 1,100 PS, equivalent to approximately 1085 horsepower, marking a new era for electric sports cars.
The Taycan Turbo GT, particularly with its Weissach package, has shattered records at both the Nürburgring and Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. Porsche’s development driver, Lars Kern, piloted the Taycan Turbo GT Weissach to become the fastest electric series-production vehicle at Laguna Seca with a lap time of 1:27.87 minutes. This achievement was closely followed by a record-setting performance at the Nürburgring, where the same model, in a pre-production guise, clocked a lap time of 7:07.55 minutes, establishing it as the quickest four-door vehicle across all powertrain categories at the Nürburgring.
Acceleration from 0 to 62 miles per hour is breathtaking, with the Taycan Turbo GT achieving it in just 2.3 seconds, and the Weissach package variant in an even quicker 2.2 seconds. Although pricing details remain undisclosed, the allure of the Taycan Turbo GT is undeniable, promising unmatched electric performance.
