Scotland’s Carnoustie Golf Hotel

Scotland is the birth place of golf, and one of the most famous courses in Scotland is the Carnoustie Links, home to the 1999 and 2007 Open Championship golf course. The course has hosted rounds of golf dating back as far as the 16th century.
The four star Carnoustie Golf Hotel ? every golf lover?s dream hotel – sits overlooking the 18th green of the Links, as did our suite. The hotel is home to 96 rooms, including ten suites, and has recently benefitted from a multi-million pound refurbishment which was carried out over three years, in anticipation of Carnoustie playing host to the 147th Open, which took place in July 2018.
We visited the hotel in early August and just missed all the golf spectators who congregate for the Open. The hotel is a two-hour drive from Glasgow, Scotland?s largest city and 10 miles from Dundee the ?City of Discovery?.
I was staying in the Carnoustie Suite with hubby, and two teenagers in tow. The suite is perfect for a family of four. The lounge was transformed into an additional bedroom, which we gave over to the children and we took the master bedroom. The most outstanding feature of the suite is the balcony which looks directly on to the 18th green. We spent our evenings enjoying the summer nights and the last of the good weather.
The suite was spacious and tastefully decorated in a Highland tweed style, with a television in both the lounge and the master bedroom. The USB ports were especially handy with our typical teenagers who are for...
