Weighing 8.01 carats, it has been graded Fancy Vivid Blue by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). It is the highest possible colour grade, and it has been conferred upon only one per cent of blue stones by the GIA. Besides this, it is a Type IIb rock, which means it is the purest form of diamond that comprises 0.5 per cent of stones across the globe.
