THE BLACKBOOK: Topless Pagani Huayra to debut August 21st
In 2011, Italian sports car maker Pagani teased the motoring public with the Huayra supercar, its long awaited follow up to the Zonda. Promising only 40 cars per year to a maximum of 100 machines, the Huayra and its special edition variants was officially sold out in 2015.
Pagani is teasing the public again with a roadster version of the Huayra. Originally slated for the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, Pagani pulled out and So far it has only been shown once at a private function at the company’s new factory. The open top hypercar will make its official debut at the Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance during Monterrey Car Week.

A fitting venue for what is the best of the best in automotive engineering and design, past present and future. No pricing or specs were available (The Pagani Huayra Roadster may not be its official name) but expect the hand built AMG 6.0 liter V12 to increase in power 750 horsepower. In stead of gaining weight, the new car will actually be 100 pounds lights. A remarkable engineering feat considering most cars need more structural rigidity when they lose their roofs.
As per Pagani’s agreement with AMG on the hard top version, only 100 engines will be available and thus only 100 cars will be sold. THE BLACKBOOK has access to one model which is scheduled for a spring 2017 delivery. More information will be communicated to interested clients as it becomes available.
