The tech giant has stormed to the top of the device charts with the launch just last year of the iPhone 6. This hotly anticipated gadget blew others out of the ball park with around 70 million devices sold in its first quarter. Not even the big boys including Samsung were able to compete with such a high figure.

In fact, up to the first few months of this year, they had recorded profits of more than $20 million. With Samsung launching their latest edition of the Galaxy Note, Apple steamrolled the competition with devastating effect. The iPhone was so successful that it actually shipped around 14 million units in less than a week after launch.
