While Victorian homes are relatively common (and highly desirable) in the Bay Area, few pack as much historic punch as Pacific Grove’s Trimmer Hill. The home’s Queen Anne exterior is embellished with the ornate architectural flourishes the style is known for including carved wood details and delicate stained glass.The six-bedroom home wears its National Register of Historic Places badge proudly. It was the original home of  Dr. Trimmer and also of Knut Hoveden whose Hoveden Cannery helped create the longest running sardine industry in Cannery Row (it was the last to close in the early 1970s).  This estate is the only privately owned residence in the Monterey Peninsula on National Register.With a home like this one has an obligation to preserve and restore it in alignment with the history and craftsmanship of the original design.
