Warner Bros.? Impressive Track Record
Warner Bros. has a good track record in terms of transforming their licenses into good quality video games, so this makes it not so surprising that the 2014 Shadow of Mordor was as good as it was. What was shocking, however, was that it was not only a very well-developed game, it also boasted an indisputably new idea. It was no minor gimmick, either, but a main feature that played a huge role in the game?s appeal, and appeared perfect for adoption into a number of other games too, although that has not yet happened. The feature in question, is, of course, the Nemesis System: the ability for enemies in the game to remember your character, as well as others, and react accordingly when next they run into them. This kind of clever artificial intelligence transformed what could easily have been a hack ?n? slash fest into a highly individualised experience that had the game playing out differently for everyone who enjoyed it.
The sequel, naturally, has the same system in place, and builds on it by having the player lead an army whose captains the player personally recruits and fosters relationships wit...
