Paris’ Four Seasons George V Is Europe’s First Hotel With Three Michelin-Starred Restaurants

I?ve written before in these pages about one of Europe?s top hotels, the Four Seasons George V in Paris, which made my extremely selective top tier list, Hotels I Love, the highest honor I bestow on any property (read here). I?ve visited several times over the past 20 years, including for my 20th wedding anniversary, and each time it gets better. Last year the hotel added a very special array of free and one-of-a-kind Parisian activities for guests, a program no hotel in the city can rival (read more here). For 2017 the Georges V has once again upped the ante for its loyal guests, this time making culinary history. The hotel?s two newest restaurants, Le George and L?Orangerie, were each awarded a Michelin Star each in the new 2017 guide, joining the flagship French fine dining spot, Le Cinq, which was (belatedly) elevated last year from two to the highest possible three Michelin stars. This makes the Four Seasons in Paris the first and only hotel in all of Europe to house three Michelin-starred restaurants, and while the reliability and consistency of the Michelin Guide has declined as it expanded worldwide, it is still the traveler?s fine dining bible when it comes to France, its area of special expertise.
