Being the only adults-only boutique hotel in the up and coming and very desirable SoFi neighborhood (South of Fifth) of South Beach, this hotel just underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation to bring its historic structure into modern times. Named after the iconic “Mother of Miami Beach” Julia Tuttle, it debuted in all of its glory, incorporating the modern vibe of the neighborhood with this Art Deco building?s history. The Julia?s exterior is built on the foundation of the former Lido Hotel circa 1932 with its interior common areas featuring both modern and traditional artwork, Cuban tile floors and assorted Turkish pillows and throws in softening the space up with creature comforts. The design, by Seattle-based architect interior designer Stephen Busto, pays homage to the old Miami, incorporating earth tones and hues of coral and gray, complete with the lobby?s portrait wall with the paintings half obscured by a large gray matte color across the bottom half, making for great conversation.
