Celebrated by the Chinese all over the world, Chinese New Year this year falls on February 16. As China’s importance continues to grow for luxury brands, various international labels have released festive collections to capitalize on the season.

Focusing on the zodiac animal of the year — dog — here are some of the many ways luxury brands have incorporated adorable and ferocious canines in their designs this year.
Designer Alessandro Michele has always had a penchant for incorporating animal prints or elements in his designs for Gucci. This time, he’s taken the adorable route with an entire collection dedicated to the Year of the Dog in celebration of Chinese New Year. The pup-inspired garments and accessories in fact feature two dogs — the designer’s Boston terriers, Bosco and Orso. Estée Lauder unveiled an elegant powder compact with crystal embellishments.
Partnering with jewelry designer Monica Rich Kosann, Estée Lauder developed a vintage-inspired powder compact embellished with sparkly canines. Exquisitely crafted, the compact comes filled with Perfecting Pressed Powder and is refillable too.
