Newest Black Titanium Watch from Urwerk – UR-112 Aggregat
Offering fully digital time displays, from hours down to seconds, the new UR-112 Aggregat from Swiss watchmaker Urwerk is a mechanical challenge, a timepiece requiring absolute assembly precision. Hours and minutes are displayed on triangular prisms operating under transparent cylinders that can be observed through the crystal.
On the left, the digital hour display. On the right, the minutes jumping in 5-minute increments. All numerals are engraved and then filled with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability even in poor light conditions.
Measuring 42 mm (width) x 51 mm (length) x 16 mm (thickness), the hinged titanium case (be sure to check our list of the best titanium watches) protects the automatic UR-13.01 Calibre beating at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and guaranteeing 48 hours of autonomy.
Pressing the pushers on either side of the case unlocks the cover and it springs up, revealing an elaborate display of digital seconds. Etched on tiny silicon wafer disks, tiny numerals parade under a magnifying lens beside the only analogue display of the UR-112, the power-reserve indicator.
Combining an anthracite body to black sides and cover, the case has a matte finish that enhances the technical look of the timepiece. The UR-112 has been tested up to a pressure of 3 bar (approximately corresponding to a water resistance of 30 metres / 100 feet).
