It’s clear that the future of cars is in electricity, and Volkswagen is planning on leading the way, aiming to sell a million electric vehicles a year by 2025.  With their new Volkswagen I.D. Buzz Concept ($NA) they have taken the idea of the travel van into the modern age.
Still incorporating the Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB) the new concept van is stretched out to seat up to eight passengers while retaining two storage areas with modular seating layouts.  The futuristic microbus rolls on an all-wheel 369 horsepower duel motor drive system with an average 270 mile range per charge. The next step is engaging Volkswagen’s I.D. Pilot autonomous driving mode and letting the I.D. Buzz do the driving while the front seats can be turned to the rear to let the former driver interact with the other passengers.  Expected to arrive sooner that you might think – beginning of 2020.
